Promoting a 4×4 guided tour, we focus into Northern Vietnam & Northern Laos for this border crossing route. An ideal suggestion will go for 14 days in total with an optional extension for Halong bay at the end. As Northern Vietnam is reputed by its terrain, diverse landscapes and colorful hill-tribes; Northern Laos give such an impression of their charm in lifestyle, absolute dreaming land & people, and gorgeous world-class heritage sites.

    Day 1 : Hanoi – Pu Luong

    Pick up at your hotel, our crew will take you out of city center by heading through its reputed traffic, chaotic but interesting. Soon we catch a smooth highway to travel west of Hanoi, countryside landscape is calling out.

    Just before you realize, mountain road is under the wheels. Passing plenty of charming villages, every corners open to a new landscape. Nowadays, Pu Luong is such an attractive spot because of its valley, rice fields and villages blended in surrounding of karst mountains.

    We welcome you to first buffet dinner served with all local dishes.

    Day 2 : Pu Luong – Vieng Xai

    It can’t be better to start a day with great breakfast in among nature.

    We carry on our travel along Ma river, shady road through bamboo forest takes us quickly at border checkpoint to Laos. Not far from border is Vieng Xay, old Head Quarter of Phathet Laos, the revolution force liberated this country. It’s now an interesting spot to visit and study about the rough way to freedom of Laos. Not only referring history image, Vieng Xay gives an impression of rustic landscape, such a peaceful countryside.

    Day 3 : Vieng Xai – Muang Hiam

    It’s said we need to drive on many thousands of bands and corner today. And yes it’s right! We will do the most twisted distance all the way down mid-land of Laos. There are just few of rural villages along the way but that’s how we love this country. Traveling in Laos brings you a sense of meditation, peace in mind!

    Day 4 : Muang Hiam – Phonsavan – Plain of Jars

    An abandon route is brought back to live. The route was hidden with an airport remained from the American war, with good dusty road & countryside view. There are more smooth-shaped hills when we get closed to Xieng Khoang Plateau. We try to make good time pay a visit to Plain of Jars – a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It gets the name from hundreds of stone jars scattered across the landscape, ranging in site from 1-2.5 meters in height. The origin of all those jars is till controversial and covered in myth.

    Day 5 : Phonsavan – Luang Prabang

    There are more smooth-shaped hills when we start the day through Xieng Khoang. So it’s likely a free wheeling ride on plateau, in among wild & open nature. Then we have all good mountain roads & great countryside landscape for rest distance to Luang Prabang. 

    Luang Prabang, a former capital of this country, a peninsula at river junction, now becomes a must-see place for all travelers. Its ancientry, veneration, and charm blend just in perfection.

    Day 6 : Luang Prabang, a rest day

    It’s always worth to spend times to explore this charming ancient town. There are everything to make this place great, royal architecture, old temples, historical relics, exotic nature or lively market.

    Day 7 : Luang Prabang – Nong Khiaw

    A beautiful day up into the remote northern Laos as we will make a long travel which takes us to rustic town of Nong Khiaw on Nam Ou riverside. All rough distances just give a better landscape, one after one.

    Day 8 : Nong Khiaw – Dien Bien Phu

    Another great day explore rural countryside in Laos. We take more twisted mountain roads. And everywhere we pass by, we see villages in the middle of nowhere. But always an image of happy kids and people we will keep in heart.

    After the formalities at Tay Trang border crossing, we have little distance left to our place in Dien Bien Phu city. A long day we have, but we trust you will enjoy it.

    Day 09 : Dien Bien Phu – Son La

    We spend some times in the morning and pay a visit to Dien Bien Phu attractions, all historical relics from French war.

    Our journey backs on road and takes smooth distance on highway 6 then a magnificent travel over Pha Din pass just before arriving in our place for tonight. We find peace and authentic sense of staying in countryside with local family, not in a busy town.

    Day 10 : Son La – Moc Chau

    Avoid main traffic, we stick on back road for today travel, we see more about life in countryside instead. It gets rough of last distance to our homestay in Moc Chau but much greater landscape in return. At glance, grassland of Moc Chau shows cool atmosphere, vast fruit farms and green plantation all over.

    Day 11 : Moc Chau – Black river

    We make a short travel down from Moc Chau plateau to our place. Spend reminder of day to relax in the pool and in among of nature.

    Day 12 : Black river – Hanoi
