This tour brings you a multi sensorial experience, having for start-point Hanoi, a thousand years old city; the mountain area of Sapa, where imposing landscapes and colorful ethnic groups are blended; the endless mountain ranges of Ha Giang; and the life of Ba Be national park, where locals maintain their traditions and ways of living for hundreds of years.

Well set up in dates and recommended for a few months during the year, each of our Northern 4×4 tours will catch typical events up in the mountains, especially market days, harvesting season or other local festivals. Also, our offer is perfect for photographers, those who love and come to Vietnam to capture its best moments.     Day 1 : Hanoi – Black River

    Our crew will pick you up at your hotel. Through chaotic traffic in Hanoi center, we soon catch a smooth highway heading west of city.

    After first coffee break en route, countryside is already coming up. Take back road to avoid main traffic, we hit our first place at the side of Black river, what a view! Spend reminder of our first day to enjoy fresh breezing from river, deep in the pool with a cold beer.

    Day 2 : Black River – Phu Yen

    There will a full day of explorations across grassland of Moc Chau plateau. The first distance opens up a gateway to Moc Chau. All its smooth-shape hills, floras, fruit farms and typical cool-weather give such a great feeling. At the heart of its charm, you see people are working hard here, with a smile of happiness as always shown on their faces. When the smell of Moc Chau is still around, next part of today takes us through lust & green landscape surround Black river. There may be a few tourists you see, but lots of about local lifestyle you will experience. 

    Arriving in place, you are welcome in a rustic village.

    Day 3: Phu Yen – Tram Tau

    It’s said to catch a view of cloud ocean, not many elsewhere better than this route through Ta Xua national park. It also features great typical Northwest landscape, with twisted road runs along mountain range and massive valley. You will enjoy every minutes of travelling in this area.

    Day 4 : Tram Tau – Tu Le

    From Tram Tau we travel up to Nghia Lo, the second largest valley in Northwest. Here, Thai people build their own beautiful villages nearby vast rice fields, lean over surrounded hills and mountains.

    Coming to next, you will witness one of the most beautiful valleys in Northern Vietnam, and it’s Tu Le! Golden rice fields spread all over the land, hill-side and mountain-side; enclose villages in middle of its miracle color.

    Day 5 : Tu Le – Sapa

    This is a special day of tour. In the morning, we travel on Khau Pha pass, a mighty road in local belief. At the end of day, O Quy Ho pass will take us to Sapa, a hot spot in whole region. These passes are also listed as 2 of 4 most magnificent ones in Northern Vietnam. Not much words can do the job as good as the journey will, itself.

    Sapa is known as an ideal summer holiday location since early 19 century because of decent temperature. But it’s most reputed by massive valleys at foot of Hoang Lien mountain range.

    Day 6: Sapa – Bac Ha district

    From valley of Sapa, we head to Northeast region. Today we will take the opportunity to explore the spectacular mountainous scenery and wonderful land of ethnic minorities. Lost and found on this route, you witness how incredible life can be grown on such rough terrains.

    Day 7: Bac Ha – Ha Giang

    It’s another gorgeous day of travel through western Ha Giang province. From massive corn-farm valleys of Bac Ha, we cross over remote villages on most untouched route for travelers. 

    We end up in a peaceful village nearby town of Ha Giang. A short walk up hill to the top of village will satisfy you with a great view.

    Day 8: Ha Giang – Dong Van

    Into heart of rocky plateau!

    It’s not quite easy to travel up to this region, actually it can be challenging. All mountain roads come with numerous of demanding corners, and very steep slopes. But it’s all paid off. The landscape around Dong Van district is unique, features various form of ancient rocks and all twisted cliff-roads.

    Day 9: Dong Van – Du Gia

    It’s time for shopping! 

    What makes this “land of rock” unique? Its look! Its people! Its soul! You find all in a local fair or market day, in popular description. For hundreds of years, the locals are keeping their own way to set up a fair, even way to participate it. An event of trading, of meeting old friends, where men are allowed to drink till drunk, and the wives remained happy.

    Back on the road, you will be amazed by cliff-pass from Dong Van to Meo Vac. Carved into a mountain side, look down an abyss, Ma Pi Leng pass is standing out as the best one to travel on in whole North. Last distance to Du Gia valley completes today with great satisfaction, just another exotic region.

    Day 10: Du Gia – Ba Be

    It is hard to say farewell to the village. We carry on our travel with more mountain roads, more villages we pass by and a new place to explore. Landscape close to Ba Be is characterized of high limestone mountains, thick forest and curvy road.

    There is a boat trip which takes us from upstream of water source down to our village in heart of national park. The homestay has such a great open-view balcony looking down to rice fields and a part of the lake faraway.

    Day 11: Ba Be – Hanoi

    Enjoy breakfast at open-view balcony, we then leave Ba Be for the last chapter of tour. With all emotion from days on road, we hope you will find your own moments in the trip.
